Celebrating a Sacred Time of Year with a Samhain/Halloween Sound Journey on Thursday October 30, 2025 at 7pm sharp
Halloween and Samhain are closely related and are similar in meaning, but they have distinct origins and meanings.
Samhain is an ancient Celtic festival that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, traditionally celebrated from October 31 to November 1.
As we gather in a beautiful profound celebration of the 2 with vibro-acoustic music in a guided meditation and sound journey, don’t be surprised if you find yourself visiting with some ancestors.
What’s the meaning of Samhain (a.k.a. Halloween) and how can you harness its energy?
Samhain is a cross-quarter day, the days that mark the mid-point of the season. It is also known as Halloween!
Here at the mid-point, we can really see the shift in seasonal energy. It’s very clear we’re in Autumn. At the Equinox the energy was still mingled with summer, our inner & outer worlds swirling around each other; a time of finding balance between the two.
At Samhain it’s clear that our inner world is overtaking our outer. Day is turning to night as we move into the dark side of the wheel of the year. This is where we leave the outer world behind. This is where the energy turns inward, and things need to die on the outside to do that. Samhain celebrates that Death.
Halloween, on the other hand, is the modern, secularized version of Samhain, influenced by Christian traditions. It became known as “All Hallows’ Eve” (the night before All Saints’ Day on November 1) and gradually evolved into the Halloween we know today, focusing more on fun, costumes, and trick-or-treating. While some spiritual aspects of Samhain remain, Halloween has shifted to being more of a playful and festive holiday in many cultures, with less emphasis on its original spiritual significance.
Samhain is a spiritual celebration of the cycles of life and the spirit world, while Halloween is a modern, more commercialized version that blends both ancient traditions and more lighthearted activities.
Spiritually, Halloween symbolizes transformation, the cycle of life and death, and the opportunity to confront and release fears or negative energy.
At Wren Haven Spiritual Center, we provide 3” memory foam floor beds, pillows, blankets, & eye bags.
