Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Moves to Salvation Army

Marion County, FL, September 18, 2025: Kaleidoscope Play & Learn weekly playgroup is moving to the Salvation Army Church, 2901 NE 14th Street, Ocala, on October 1, 2025. Kaleidoscope Play & Learn (KPL) is hosted by the Early Learning Coalition of Marion County and is free for children birth to five and their parent or caregiver. The group meets Wednesdays from 10 a.m. -11:30 a.m., and no registration is required. The move to Salvation Army allows the playgroup to accommodate more families.

The Coalition recently celebrated KPL’s second birthday in Marion County. The program is designed for families whose children are not in a traditional child care setting. The playgroup provides opportunities for children to socialize while teaching caregivers the importance of developmentally appropriate play to help their children prepare for success in kindergarten. During the playgroup, trained facilitators lead children and caregivers in playing, singing songs, listening to stories, and enjoying arts and crafts activities together. Snacks are also provided.

The Coalition’s mission is to equip every young child and family for success. They implement the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), School Readiness, and Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) programs on behalf of the Florida Department of Education Division of Early Learning plus additional complimentary programs that support parents as a child’s first and most important teacher.
