Part of the 17th Annual Sickle Cell Disease Educational Summit, themed “Let’s Talk About Pain: The Seen & Unseen,” this powerful in-person event features nine physicians who live with sickle cell disease. Their dual perspective—as both providers and patients—offers a rare and profound insight into the challenges of pain management, systemic bias, and compassionate care.
In this intimate session, you’ll hear how these doctors are reshaping conversations about trust, empathy, and belief in patient experience—especially in the context of chronic pain. This is a call to action for providers to listen differently, believe deeply, and treat with humility.
Healthcare professionals are especially encouraged to:
✔️ Register for the full 17th Annual SCD Educational Summit (Sept. 18–21, 2024);
✔️ Attend other sessions focused on evidence-based practices, advocacy, and patient-led education; AND
✔️ Support this critical work by making a tax-deductible donation.
