About the event

Rice and Gullah Culture on the Lower Cape Fear @ Barbee
Join Jim McKee from Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site to learn how rice was the dominant food crop harvested in Brunswick County in the 18th-mid-19th centuries. Its legacy still reverberates through the area to this day: From the foods we eat, its impact on the environment, to the families who have been here for generations; rice helped shape the development of Brunswick County and the lower Cape Fear region. Registration is required. Register at https://brunsco.libcal.com/event/15189034 or call 910-253-1815.
