Household Hazardous Waste like paint, paint strippers, varnishes, adhesives and glues, hobby supplies, batteries, motor oil, compact and tube fluorescent light bulbs, antifreeze, lawn and garden chemicals, and pesticides should not be thrown out with regular trash.
The MARC Solid Waste Management District with Jackson County, Grain Vally and Oak Grove, Missouri are holding an event to collect HHW. The event will be held at 34900 E. Old U.S. 40 Highway between Grain Valley and Oak Grove.
Residents of participating communities may bring HHW to the event.

Residents of non-member communities may access the Lee's Summit Resource Recovery Park permanent recycling facility for a fee during their hours of operation on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only.

Waste is not accepted from businesses — including home-based businesses, nonprofits, churches and rental properties.
