In November at Windycon, we will be discussion "Snow Crash", the groundbreaking 1992 novel by Neal Stephenson that has been described as "a modern classic that predicted the metaverse and inspired generations of Silicon Valley innovators".

This discussion is open to anybody and everybody. We're be holding this particular meeting at a special location: Windycon 51, the science fiction convention which will run from November 7-9 at the Doubletree By Hilton Hotel in Oak Brook, Illinois.
We will still also include a link for free online attendance via Discord as we do with regular meetings. A link with which to log on will be published shortly before the meeting.

Hiro lives in a Los Angeles where franchises line the freeway as far as the eye can see. The only relief from the sea of logos is within the autonomous city-states, where law-abiding citizens don’t dare leave their mansions.

Investigating the Infocalypse leads Hiro all the way back to the beginning of language itself, with roots in an ancient Sumerian priesthood. He’ll be joined by Y.T., a fearless teenaged skateboard courier. Together, they must race to stop a shadowy virtual villain hell-bent on world domination.
