Igniting Pediatric Readiness: How PECCs Transform Pediatric Emergency Care (1 CE)

Let's talk about pediatric readiness in the emergency department!

This virtual CE session will review strategies and resources for the National Pediatric Readiness Project any ED can use to improve the quality of care for children—regardless of size or location.

We'll take a deep dive into the Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC), an integral role to improving pediatric readiness in the ED, as well as barriers to the PECC role and how to partner with several national entities to overcome them.

Presenter:
Erin Montgomery, BSN, RN, CCRN
Erin is a critical care transport RN for the pediatric/neonatal specialty transport team at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. She's also Program Director for ImPACTS (Improving Pediatric Acute Care Through Simulation). With a passion for educational and collaborative community work, Erin has helped improve the quality of emergency pediatric care in community hospital EDs across Indiana by providing pediatric emergency education and training through in-situ high fidelity simulation visits.
