Fall colors should be in grand display. We walk to Reservoir Avenue and hike through the Brox Elks Memorial park and the Port Jervis Watershed Park and Recreation area. We'll have lunch either at the Riverside Creamery or Erie Depot Restaurant.

To avoid a mad dash, we'll take the 9:00AM train to Secaucus, where we will descend to a lower track for the 9:30 am Port Jervis line, arriving at 11:48am. Drivers may meet us there. To return to Penn Station, I will take the 5:30 train, but there are also trains at 3pm and 8:40. You may also want to stay in a motel overnight and return the next day. It's $47.70 for adults and $23.20 for seniors, round trip. Port Jervis is the last stop, hard to miss. Please sit in the first two cars of the train. Only these cars will open at Port Jervis. Also, there is no restroom at the Port Jervis station. Please be sure to use the train restroom.

Take layers, rain gear, just in case, sunscreen, water, reading material, battery charger, food -It's going to a long day and no one wants to be hungry!

Registration is only $10, and Shorewalkers will donate all fees to the Carl Schurz Park Conservancy( https://www.carlschurzparknyc.org/), the dedicated caretakers of the park’s beautiful gardens and lawns. This walk will count for 8 miles of your total. You do not have to participate in the Fall Challenge to join the walk—all members are welcome.
