About this Event

Face to face training

Location: The Nottingham Mechanics Institute, 3 North Sherwood St, Nottingham, NG1 4EZ

This new course has been developed to enable practitioners to consider how to work in ways that take into consideration the additional barriers black and minoritised survivors experience in accessing services.

The training covers:

  • Improving awareness of barriers for black and minoritised survivors accessing domestic abuse services
  • Exploring the experiences of black and minoritised survivors to gain insight into how services can improve responses
  • Identifying support strategies and general good practice for responding to black and minoritised survivors
  • Identify how all services can work towards ensuring services are more accessible

Please be aware this course does not explore supporting migrant or refugee survivors in depth (e.g. Legal contexts or Migrant Victims Domestic Abuse Concession).
