Funkatronic Luchadors Revenge of Calculon and Chap-hop legend Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer perform live at this special double-headliner show at JT Soar Nottingham.
Mr B invented Chap-Hop in the summer of 2007 having drunk too much sherry and inadvertently created a new culture.
Since then he has travelled the world, spreading his beats, rhymes and manners.
He has recorded 13 albums and has rapped for Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight and for Rob Da Bank, Steve Lamacq, Claudia Winkleman, Tom Robinson, Shaun Keaveny on the radio and for Zoe Ball on Sky TV. He has been described as "a cross between the home service and Run DMC" by the evening standard, "too funny too dope" by Nile Rogers and "controversial" by The daily mail.
Funkatronic Luchadors Revenge of Calculon bring a big dose of lo-fi beats, sleazy bass grooves and enough old fashioned synth squelch to satisfy even the most hungry of space funk explorers.
Their Funkatronic adventures have seen them release a bumper collection of 7” vinyl and their debut LP MANIPULATOR, launched last year at Rough Trade records Nottingham and Lucky Records Reykjavik, received regular airplay on BBC introducing shows. Their live shows have included some weird appearances at ComicCon, Sci-fi London festival, as well as annual shows at Iceland Airwaves festival.
They recently appeared on the IS THIS WHAT WE WANT?, “12 tracks of silence” anti-AI protest LP alongside Damon Albarn, Public Service Broadcasting, Kate Bush and Mystery Jets.
