Join us for a multilayered performance based around the idea of morphic resonance and the four natural elements (Earth, Water, Wind and Fire) in the psyche, body, environment, dreams and mythology. Morphic resonance is the idea that there are channels of communication through which organisms are in touch at a distance, that minds stretch beyond our brains and bodies.
This strange experimental work blends spatialised sound with reactive costume, installation and performance. Reflecting on the elements as material, myth and prophecy exploring perception, consciousness and communication.
Beth Kettel is a visual artist based in Nottingham. She has developed artworks across the UK and internationally in the gallery, in public spaces and cinemas. Her research-led practice spans performance, sculpture, moving image, installation, costume, sound and writing. Beth's work explores how our internal worlds are shaped, translated, communicated and distorted externally, and vice versa. Interested in the senses, body language, defences, reckonings and the mental health of humans, plants and animals with their capacities to be psychically, spiritually limber or emotionally disturbed.
After the performance join us for our after party - our friends at The Model in Hockley have curated a night of music ranging from spiritual jazz to dark disco, 8pm until late.
