Before the Irish take on Boise State, artist Brendan Fernandes will present Tail of Joy—a house music tailgate dance party designed to spark joy and collective celebration. The piece invites participants to gather in solidarity and embrace joy through dancing together.
From 12:00–2:30 p.m., the dance party will transform the Alumni Association's We Are All ND tailgate at the Eck Visitors Center into a vibrant place for all fans to connect before kickoff. Professional dancers will animate the space with movement and bold graphic signage. Acclaimed house DJ Shaun J. Wright will provide the soundtrack, sending rhythms to move us both bodily and spiritually toward feeling, release, and action. Dancers from Uzima! will help welcome everyone onto their feet.
In these challenging times, moments to come together, release, and celebrate are essential. Tail of Joy offers exactly that: a shared space to dance, to be as one, and to feel joy.
This tailgate experience is co-sponsored by the Notre Dame Alumni Association, the Arts Initiative, the Initiative on Race & Resilience, the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, and the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art.
