Young Shots Introduction to Game Shooting- Norfolk

BASC Eastern invites you to a fantastic Young Shots Experience Day — the perfect introduction to the world of game shooting for youngsters with little or no prior game shooting experience.

The day begins with a warm welcome and breakfast in the shoot room, where participants will meet the BASC team and fellow young shots. This is followed by an informative presentation covering essential topics such as gun safety, shoot etiquette, species identification, and relevant laws and legislation.

Next, participants will be introduced to a qualified and experienced shotgun coach for a session of clay shooting. With guidance and practical tips, this is a great opportunity to build confidence before heading out into the field.

A mid-morning ‘elevenses’, will include refreshments and a chance to sample some game meat tasters and a soft drink.

Following this, it’s onto the gun bus for the first of the day’s “walk one, stand one” drives — giving everyone the chance to experience both being on the peg and part of the beating team. It’s a hands-on way to understand how a driven shoot works from both perspectives.

A warming game lunch will be served before heading back out for the afternoon drives to round off the field shooting experience.

To complete the day, there will be a demonstration on how to pluck and dress a gamebird — with each participant able to take one home with them.

This event is designed to give young shots a well-rounded, safe, and enjoyable introduction to game shooting, supported every step of the way by the BASC team.

A day not to be missed for any young person looking to take their first steps into shooting.

The cost for the day is £145 per person for BASC Young Shot members. Participants should bring suitable warm, waterproof clothing and a hat. You may bring your own shotgun, but it must be half choke or less, nitro proof, and suitable for steel shot. Guns will be available for those who do not have their own. This event is suitable for ages 10- 21.
