About the event

Stay Safe Online — A Cybersecurity Awareness Month Lecture
This October, Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we’re kicking off our new lecture series with a practical talk on everyday cybersecurity. Scams, hacks, and fraud are constantly evolving, knowing the basics can help keep you, your family, and your business safe.

In this session, we’ll cover:
✅ Creating strong passwords & using password managers
✅ Multifactor Authentication (MFA) and why it matters
✅ Spotting scams & fraud (phone, email, and AI)
✅ Keeping your devices and software up to date

Giveaway: All attendees will be entered to win Cory Doctorow’s latest book, Enshitification which is a sharp, timely look at how the internet got broken and how we can take it back.

This is a free community event. No technical background required, just bring your curiosity and questions.

We make our community better with stronger habits for a safer digital life.
