Bundle dye and Tataki-zome workshop

Come join us for a hands-on workshop where you can learn the art of bundle dyeing and Tataki-zome! This in-person event will take place at St Georges - Norwich University of the Arts. During this workshop participants will have the opportunity to create an exciting and beautifully coloured piece of cloth using flowers, leaves and food waste. The bundle dyeing process involves wrapping plant materials in cloth and steaming to leave the natural pigments permanently on the cloth. These fabrics will need to be steamed for 40 minutes. Whilst the fabrics are steaming participants will then try the tataki-zome process which is a traditional Japanese printing method by which plant pigments are transferred to fabric using a hammer.
