Free Film Screening: Lasting Impressions
Tuesday, October 14 | 6:00 PM
Join us for a special screening of Lasting Impressions (2023), a documentary that offers an intimate journey through the life and work of world-renowned printmaker, painter, innovator, and teacher Dan Welden. This free public event will feature a Q&A with the artist following the film.
Told in chapters and enriched by the voices of friends and colleagues, including Kiki Smith, Eric Fischl, Alice Aycock, and Helen A. Harrison, the film captures the essence of Welden as an artist. It explores his inspirations, artistic process, and philosophy of creativity while highlighting his role as the pioneer of Solarplate printmaking, a safer, more sustainable alternative to traditional etching and relief techniques.
The screening takes place the evening before Welden’s sold-out workshop, Printmaking in the Sun: Solarplates. All are welcome to attend the film event, regardless of workshop participation.
