Trinity Church in Northport is proud to announce the 20th annual Belko Peace Lecture, a cherished tradition dedicated to fostering peace, justice, and understanding in our community and beyond. This year’s lecture, part of Trinity’s “Year of Empathy,” will feature Karen Puschel Segal, a distinguished former State Department diplomat and Council on Foreign Relations scholar. Ms. Segal will present “The Immigration Challenge in America Today,” drawing on her extensive experience in international affairs and her current work resettling families from Afghanistan and Ukraine in Northern Michigan. The event will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 7:00pm at Trinity Church, 103 N Warren St, Northport.
Since its inception in 2005, the Belko Peace Lecture Series has provided a strong and clear voice for peace and justice, helping to build bridges of understanding and compassion among people of all backgrounds. Trinity Church, guided by the spirit of God’s unconditional love, welcomes everyone seeking a place to grow in faith and community. The Belko Peace Lecture aims to instill a dedication to resolving conflicts non-violently—person to person, group to group, and nation to nation.
Admission to the Belko Peace Lecture is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated and will be used to support the ongoing Trinity Church Belko Peace Lecture Series, ensuring that this vital tradition continues to inspire and unite our community for years to come.
