Learn how to bake a loaf of sourdough for as little as $.97 per loaf before the holidays!

The method I use takes the mystery out of making sourdough, and is a straightforward, no-babysitting-your bread way to go! You receive starter and learn how to feed it, and make a loaf to take home to bake the next day!
SOURDOUGH WORKSHOP DETAILS
Where: Our kitchen at 8227 N. Matheson Rd, Northport, M I 49670
(Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time, but please, no earlier than 10 minutes before the workshop)

The Workshop lasts about 2 – 2 ½ hours.
You will leave with:
• A loaf of bread ready to bake the next day
• Robust starter in a jar (only needs to be fed once a week; can be more often!)
• Recipe
• Hands-on process experience and knowledge
• Pitfalls to avoid
• Tasting ~ HH Cherries wine or water + HH Cherries jam + pesto = Fun and camaraderie!
Please bring these 5 items:
• A large bowl (ceramic, glass, stainless steel or plastic)
• Thin rubber spatula
• Wide-mouth quart glass jar if you have one, or another container that is at least one quart in size, with the lid (can be plastic, ie, Tupperware)
• Kitchen scale (DIGITAL) that can hold the bowl and can weigh in grams and has a capacity of at least 6 pounds.
• A tea or dish towel
Items you will need in your kitchen after you leave:
• Cast iron Dutch oven (we have Lodge 5 qt. available for sale here for $55)
• Kitchen scale that weighs in grams with a capacity of at least 6 pounds. (available here for $15)
• Thermometer (available here for $5)
• Parchment paper
• Saran or cling wrap
• Dish, tea, or hand towel
We can take payment at the end of the workshop in case anyone needs/wants to purchase any additional items. We sell the equipment as well as honey (from bees that we rent from a local farmer to help pollinate our cherry trees in the spring), seasonings, and “merch”.
