Join us for a beautiful end-of-year celebration as we come together for our final Dr Emotions workshop of 2025!
✨ OUR LAST WORKSHOP OF THE YEAR ✨,
In this special workshop, we’ll reconnect with our bodies, our community, and the joyful spirit of Dabke. Rooted in the Levant, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Jordan. Dabke is a powerful communal dance passed down through weddings, gatherings, and celebrations for generations. More than just steps, Dabke is about togetherness and cultural harmony, where people join in one line, feeling the beat, sharing the joy, and moving with a collective spirit that carries the stories of family, land, joy, and resilience.
The leader might call the steps, but the real fun happens when everyone holds hands, and the line comes alive!
This is our Last workshop of the year to honour the spirit of dance. You’ll experience the grounding beat, the playful energy, the sharp footwork, and the collective strength that make Dabke unforgettable. Whether it's your first time or you grew up dancing it, this space invites you to reconnect with culture, with community, and with your own expressive power.
Led by Rowa and Raneem - if you have ever seen them at a party, you already know that the vibe is as fun as it is cultural, and as spirited as it is contagious!

BIO Facilitator
Rowa (She/her) is a Melbourne-based trauma-informed belly dancer, yoga instructor, and professional performance artist. Originally from the SWANA, she draws inspiration from traditional Raqs Sharqi and regional dance forms. Since 2018, Rowa has developed a unique approach blending belly dance, Somatic dance, yoga, and movement medicine to help people release tension, reconnect with their bodies, and heal through mindful, expressive movement. Her classes create a safe, supportive space for self-expression, growth, and transformation.
Raneem (she/her) is passionate about the cultural traditions of the Levant, especially Dabke - the heartbeat of celebrations, weddings, and social gatherings. Deeply involved in community work, she is dedicated to preserving and sharing dance and language across journeys of migration. Raneem loves creating spaces of joy and connection, guiding participants through the spirit, rhythm, and harmony of Dabke.
