This week Wishlist, Dog Door and Lieverd are stopping by for a show.
Wishlist build songs like puzzles. Layering wooden electronic beats, resampled vocals, and warped instrumentation, they make songs that are intricate and expansive, tender and danceable. Influenced by artists like Caroline Polachek, Sorry and Imogen Heap, the duo is comprised of accomplished producers/session players Stella Farnan (Mallrat, Angie McMahon) and Soren Maryasin (Gretta Ray, Chitra).
Dog Door will crack the code to your heart, infiltrating through the eyes and ears. Hailing from Melbourne/Naarm they have been doing their thing for a long while - what is their thing? Stirring - in each audience member - memories of a forgotten moment with a friend/lover/parent and likely making them cry about it.
Lieverd is Naarm/Melbourne-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Hugo van Buuren. Finding home in the liminal, his music savours the friction felt between the natural and synthetic, the tender and firm, the light and dark — the multiplicity in everything and everyone.
