Walking, embrace, rhythm, floorcraft: the fundamentals that make tango both functional and fun.
This is the philosophy of Practica del Valle: tango as a living practice, and our own community’s commitment to exploration.
7–8 PM Fundamentals
A weekly class where we work on posture, embrace, phrasing, and circulation in the ronda. Think of it as refining the engine of your dance. The things that make everything else possible. Perfect for beginners, perfect for advanced!
8–10 PM Practica del Valle
Our practica is guided but open. You’ll find stations set up for walking, rhythm, embrace, and mechanics. Use them as feedback loops: try something, watch, get input, rest, repeat. You don’t need to rotate or cover every station. The goal is exploration and shared learning.
Consent and comfort come first. Check in with your partner about embrace. Dance in the ronda as if it were a real milonga. Take breaks, ask questions, or just sit and listen to the music.
Special Guests
From time to time, we welcome very special guests... maestras and maestros from Buenos Aires and beyond! These visits are announced in weekly posts. The recurring page will stay the same; special guest weeks will get their own posts and highlights. 👀
