It’s getting to that time of year when everyone enjoys a classic Autumn dinner. Look no further than the Bellows Falls Moose Lodge on Saturday, October 25, for the final Diner Dinner of 2025 for great food, good diner news, and wonderful community!
At the beginning of the year, Del and Joanne Bush, owners of the diner from 1973-1983, who oversaw its inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places, were asked for suggestions on some favorite meals. The Diner Dinners, based around their suggestions, are an opportunity to feature classic diner meals at an unbelievably low price and keep the community abreast of the sometimes bewildering, but never boring, world of community supported enterprises.
Moose Lodge member, Aime Theroux - meatloaf maestro of the first Diner Dinner in March - will serve as chef and prepare roast pork, mashed potatoes, stuffing, squash, green beans, cranberry sauce, gravy and rolls. Dessert will be apple crisp with whipped cream. All that for just $15 per person! Please specify vegan entree at time of ordering (we have to order those in advance). Things get underway at 5:15pm with the latest on the diner restoration. Dinner will be served buffet style starting at 6pm, and throughout, a cash bar is available.
Also on October 25th is the Perfect Party Pie Contest offering a selection of pies contributed by individuals and businesses. Choose your favorite pie recipe for diners to enjoy. You must be prepared to bring one full-size pie to share with hungry diners. Entries will be displayed with a corresponding number so cooks are anonymous and diners will vote on which is their favorite. The pie entry with the highest votes will win a Diner Swag Bag and awarded full bragging rights.
Top winners In July’s Best Baked Beans Contest were Smokin’ Bowls and 802 Soul Kitchen, who tied for first place.
