State Representative Greg Howard (R-43) will be hosting a conversation for parents with public safety leaders, social workers, and school professionals to learn how parents can best support their children during and after a school lockdown.
The conversation will take place on Tuesday, December 2nd from 5:30PM - 7:00 PM at The Commons - Wheeler Middle/High School, North Stonington, CT.
Rep. Greg Howard will moderate a panel with Chief John Rich Ledyard Police, Kerry Browning Retired Stonington, Youth Officer, Jay Hartling Superintendent of Ledyard Schools, Troy Hopkins Superintendent of North Stonington Schools, Kiley Young - LCSW Connecticut Center for School Safety and Crisis Preparation along two members of the state Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Supervisor Terron Jones and Region 4 Coordinator Mike Caplet.
The conversation will focus on ways to reduce confusion and mixed messages while protecting student and staff safety.
