Perennial plants are the heartbeat of a thriving garden - they return year after year, offering medicine, beauty, and abundance. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the simple yet powerful technique of “dig and divide”, a method that both strengthens existing plants and multiplies them into new ones.
We’ll work directly in the soil, practicing how to safely lift perennials, separate their crowns or roots, and replant them for continued health and vitality. Along the way, we’ll talk about when and why to divide plants, how this practice fosters resilience in the garden, and the joy of sharing divisions with others.
This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to expand their home garden, start a medicine patch, or build confidence in practical propagation skills you can return to year after year.
Take home: a selection of healthy perennial starts to plant in your own garden.
Bring: a bag or box to carry plants home. Gloves, tools, and pots will be available, but feel free to bring your favourites!
Workshop will take place rain or shine so dress appropriately!
This workshop is first in a three-part series! Sign up for all three Farewell to Fireweed Sessions using the Package Deal for a $20 discount.
