About the event

Telling Time with Bob Frishman
Registration required at https://flintmemoriallibrary.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/telling-time-with-bob-frishman/

Earlier this year, Andover resident Bob Frishman, generously donated his services to restore our antique Caleb Wheaton longcase clock, now ticking and striking the hours on the second floor. Join Bob for an illustrated presentation about our clock and his work on it, including details about including material and images about clockmaking in general in colonial and early-Federal New England. Our library is proud to own and operate our antique clock. We hope, after Bob’s talk, that library visitors will appreciate knowing a bit more about this important part of Flint Memorial Library's history! This talk is offered in collaboration with the North Reading Historical & Antiquarian Society.

Registration is required. Registrants are welcome to bring in old windup clocks and watches (no modern battery or plug-in timekeepers, please) they would like more information on for a “Roadshow” like talk following the program.

Bob will also bring copies of his recently published award-winning comprehensive biography, "Edward Duffield: Philadelphia Clockmaker, Citizen, Gentleman, 1730-1803" to sell and sign. The library owns and circulates a copy of his book - place a hold on it here!
