Have you ever wanted to learn to knit? Well, now is the time!
This three-part course will teach you the basics of knitting to get your knitting journey off on a good note. We aim for knitting confidence!
There are three lessons in the course, held on Sunday 1 March, Sunday 8 March and Sunday 15 March. And each class will build on the class before.
WORKSHOP DETAILS
When: Sunday 1, 8 & 15 March - 9:30am-11:30am (3 lessons over 3 consecutive Sundays)
Where: Bombed Yarns studio, inside the Old Warehouse, 16 Smith Street, North Hobart 7000
Cost: $185 (this price covers all three lessons)
When you sign up, please make sure you are available for all three lessons. Each week will build on from the last, and you need to attend all three lessons.
WHAT WILL WE LEARN?
Over the three lessons we will cover the basics and everything you need to know about starting to knit. At the end of the course, you'll know how to:
- Knit and purl
- Cast on and cast off (start and finish a project)
- Change colours (go from one colour to another, or how to start a new skein/ball of yarn)
- Increase and decrease stitches
- Read patterns
- Block a project (the final step to finishing a project)
These are the foundations to knitting!
You'll have a mini homework task to take away between the lessons, which will reinforce what we have learnt each week.
HOW MANY IN A CLASS?
We've capped this class at four participants. I want it to be large enough so that you can learn from each other, but small enough that you get plenty of one-on-one time with me if you need it.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
Nothing! Just rock up ready to knit!
Included in the course fee, I will provide you:
- Fixed circular needles
- 8ply hand-dyed yarn (in a range of colours, so you can choose your favourite!)
- Workshop hand-outs
You might like to bring some snacks and a bottle of water.
