The House System is a school-wide program designed to build community, encourage positive behavior, and celebrate student success. Inspired by traditions from around the world, students and staff are sorted into one of four houses—each with its own name, color, symbol, and values. The houses compete throughout the year by earning points for academics, good character, teamwork, and attendance. This system fosters school spirit, belonging, and friendly competition while teaching important life skills like collaboration, respect, and responsibility.
Here at Chicora, our four houses are Altruismo (Black), Reveur (Blue), Isibindi (Green), and Amistad (Red). Once sorted, students remain in their house throughout their time at Chicora, building lasting connections and a strong sense of community.
On Friday, August 29th at 11:00, our new students will take a spin on the House Wheel to discover which house they will join! Parents are invited to attend and cheer them on during this exciting tradition.
