Travel to Ireland Without Leaving Your Seat!
Join the North Bay Horticultural Society on Monday, September 15, for an enchanting evening with Lori Beckerton as she presents:
"Gardens of Blarney Castle: A Botanical Journey Through County Cork"
Lori is a biologist, native plant advocate, and longtime board member of Friends of Laurier Woods. She's known for her popular guided hikes on edible, medicinal, and poisonous plants, and she’s a proud Butterflyway Ranger with the David Suzuki Foundation — transforming her garden into a native plant haven and trying to inspire everyone else to do the same!
Last summer, Lori was gifted the adventure of a lifetime: a whirlwind road trip across Ireland!
She and her daughter explored the lushest corners of the Emerald Isle, culminating in a magical day at Blarney Castle, where they wandered through gardens straight out of a fairy tale — from carnivorous plants to poisonous species, and everything in between.
Lori will share stories and stunning photos from gardens like:
The Himalayan Garden
The Vietnamese Garden
The Fern Garden
The Poison Garden
And more!
