Create a Ceramic Lamp

Tuesdays, November 4 – December 9 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
No class November 25 | 5-Week Program
In this class, students will build beautiful and functional lamps from 2-5 sections of wheel thrown or hand-built pottery vessels. Students will assemble the sections once they are leather hard, decorate them, and after they are glazed, they will wire their handmade lamps!
Students will receive one complete wiring kit to assemble a single lamp during class. A supply list for purchasing additional lamp parts will be provided. Please note lamp shades are not included, however a resource guide will be shared to help students find the perfect lamp shade for their unique piece.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner. Students should be able to work independently with clay either through handbuilding or on the pottery wheel.

Material Fee: Material Fee: One 25lb bag of clay (which includes glazes and firings), and a lamp wiring kit are included!

Debbie Corley has lived in Knoxville for over 30 years. A potter for 20 years, she has very much enjoyed teaching classes at AACC. Debbie holds an AA in Studio Arts but is mostly self-taught through online and in person classes and workshops. She is a member of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild and a member of Terra Madre Women in Clay. Her work is on exhibit and for sale at The Art Market Gallery on Gay St and in the gallery on the Clay Lady’s Campus in Nashville TN.
