Quarterly Classics Book Club will read and discuss one classic book every quarter and meets at Levity Breakfast House at 6pm.
You do not have to buy the book through The Lore to participate (but it's extra awesome if you do!), you can just join us for the discussion!
You don't not have to have finished the book, though we will discuss the end of the book.
You do not have to come to every meeting (dip in and out of different book clubs, come see us once and then not again for six months, do whatever works for you)
The book for January 13, 2026 is The Stranger by Albert Camus.
Description:
Since it was first published in English, in 1946, Albert Camus’s first novel, The Stranger (L’etranger), has had a profound impact on millions of American readers. Through this story of an ordinary man who unwittingly gets drawn into a senseless murder on a sundrenched Algerian beach, Camus explored what he termed “the nakedness of man faced with the absurd.”
Now, in this illuminating translation, extraordinary for its exactitude and clarity, the original intent of The Stranger is made more immediate. This haunting novel has been given a new life for generations to come.
