Paws & Pages: Read to A Shelter Pet with Normal Public Library

Join us at the Humane Society of Central Illinois for Paws & Pages — a unique reading program that brings together young readers and shelter pets for a calm, confidence-building experience.

Children will have the chance to read aloud to our adoptable animals, helping to improve their reading skills while providing companionship and enrichment for the pets in our care.

Schedule:
Tuesdays from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Thursdays from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

What to Expect:
A quiet, cozy reading space where kids can read to a cat, dog, or other small animal for 15-minute sessions. Books are available on-site, or children can bring their favorites from home.

Whether your child is a confident reader or just starting out, Paws & Pages offers a fun, judgment-free environment — and some furry friends who love a good story.
