2025 ILMEA Band Audition Preparation Day

Register no later than Monday, September 8, 2025.

High School Band students planning to prepare their ILMEA District and All-State Band Auditions are invited to this free event to learn from the faculty and students in the School of Music. Students will receive guidance and instruction to help them prepare their recorded ILMEA Band Auditions. This clinic is scheduled well in advance of when the recorded auditions are due for submission.

Students will receive instruction in the following areas:

Technical and Musical Suggestions on the Required Etudes
Expert Advice on Practicing the Senior Level Scale Sheet
Technical and Practical Tips for Recording Your Audition

Saxophone students interested in working on the ILMEA jazz auditions (in addition to the standard district audition) will be offered an optional session on the jazz audition requirements.

Students and families who attend the event will receive complimentary tickets to the afternoon Wind Symphony Concert.
