Driving-101 is a course designed and presented by Retired State Troopers as an introduction to driving, primarily to precede any behind the wheel training for permit drivers or newly licensed drivers lacking confidence and competence when driving. This 3-hour course covers driving fundamentals every new driver should be familiar with before venturing onto Missouri roadways.
Topics of instruction for each session will include, but not limited to:

Defensive Driving
Situational Awareness
Highway Merging
Safe Lane Changes
Hazardous Weather Driving
Yield, Slowing vs Stopping
Distracted Driving
Conducting Yourself on a Traffic Stop
General Safety Tips
PARENTS: We will be offering a First Impact-A Parent's guide to the Graduated Driver License Law session with Driving 101. First Impact is a FREE program designed to teach parents about Missouri's Graduated Driver License (GDL) Law and to provide parents with the tools to monitor, coach, and support their new teen driver. First Impact educates parents and teens regarding Missouri’s Graduated Driver License (GDL) law.
The Graduated Driver License (GDL) is the single most effective tool in reducing teen driver crashes, injuries and deaths. GDL works! First Impact aims to eliminate motor vehicle fatalities and injuries among teens. It further attempts to reduce teen involved crashes by increasing parental awareness and enforcement of Missouri’s GDL law.
