Leading voice against domestic violence Rosie Batty AO will be the special guest at Mallee Accommodation and Support Program’s ‘Lunch For Change’ event in September.
The event is a return of MASP’s famous Charity Women’s Luncheon, which before the COVID-19 Pandemic was one of the organisation’s major annual fundraisers.
This year, against the stunning backdrop of Willow and Ivie at Nichols Point, the luncheon will be open to all community members to give the chance to hear Rosie’s inspirational story.
When her 11-year-old son Luke tragically lost his life at the hands of his father, Rosie was catapulted into the media spotlight.
But from the very start she made sure her story was never just about her own horrific tragedy.
With fierce determination and incredible courage, Rosie channeled her grief into a tireless and inspirational crusade against domestic violence, becoming a beacon of hope and a powerful catalyst for systemic change.
Joining Rosie as a guest speaker at the Lunch For Change is Mildura’s own Conor Pall.
Himself a victim-survivor of family violence, Conor’s story is one of hope and transformation – reshaping the systems meant to protect and support those experiencing vulnerability.
