About our mentor:

Crystal Heard is a dynamic leader, strategist, and keynote speaker who just retired with over 29 years of distinguished civilian service in the United States Air Force, holding a Top Secret/SCI clearance. She consistently delivered results as a senior civilian, steering organizations ranging from 63 to 3,300 IT professionals across the globe. As an innovator, Crystal focused on large-scale business analysis, digital transformation, and operational efficiency. Her leadership spearheaded initiatives that saved over $1M annually through process automation. During the pandemic, Crystal led the rapid expansion of secure remote work capabilities for over 800,000 users, ensuring business continuity and boosting user experience.Crystal is uniquely gifted at forging impactful industry and academic partnerships, transforming collaborations into strategic force multipliers. Her expertise bridged engineering, acquisition, and cyber operations, having overseen technology upgrades, secured critical systems, and managed complex procurements exceeding $300M. As a coalition builder and senior advisor, Crystal created organizations from the ground up—launching a division focused on agile software development, analysis, and process improvement for cyber operations supporting a $14.2B network. Her influence extended to policy, having authored enterprise-wide Air Force guidance and advised senior leaders on engineering and IT strategy. An accomplished educator, Crystal has taught over 600 students as an adjunct professor in business, technology, and mathematics. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Her certifications include CISSP, CISSP- ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, and ITIL v4 Foundations. Crystal Heard’s leadership, technical depth, and vision make her a sought-after voice in advancing cyber curriculum and strategies for the upcoming Oklahoma workforce.
