This may be the most exciting and signficant thing you can do!
Join us for a Global Day of Climate Action on Sept. 19.
Major events will be taking place around the world Sept. 19-21.
Our event is a group line dance to be staged in the outdoor area of the Niagara Falls Convention Centre.
Why?
Because the offical opposition in the Ontario legislature, the NDP, are having their convention and we want them to voice our concerns about the lack of attention to the climate crisis by our current provincial government, as well as our concerns about Bills 5 &17.
So ...
Join us by dancing (rehearsals Aug. 6 - Sept 10., every Wed. 4:15-5:15 at the NOTL Community Centre (14 Anderson Lane, studio).
Or simply come out and watch as our audience on Sept. 19,
12 pm. -1 pm, at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre (6815 Stanley Ave.)
Our Goals:
* Mobilize seniors across Canada to take part on September 19-21
* Deepen public awareness of how climate breakdown affects seniors
* Advocate for urgent, just, people-centered climate solutions
* Join with others to amplify the national message
Our Key Talking Points:
* We’re mobilizing for bold climate action and a just, fossil-free future.
* We need massive public investment in renewable energy—now.
* We support people, peace, and the planet because they're all connected.
* Climate justice must be intergenerational, inclusive, and urgent.
Our Top Demands
*Stop burning fossil fuels — End fossil fuel expansion. No new oil and gas.
*Make Polluters Pay — Cancel subsidies, tax Big Oil, and invest in the public good.
*Shift funding from fossil fuels to renewables — where it belongs.
*Protect Seniors from Climate Harm — Retrofit homes with heat pumps, fund cooling centres, clean air shelters, and improve healthcare for climate-related risks.
