For our 34th clean-up of 2025 we're heading to Groomsport. Did you know that Groomsport was the location for our first ever group clean-up back in January 2017! It's been almost 4 years since we last did a clean-up there so it will interesting to see what we find litter wise.
If you fancy some gentle exercise, some good craic and at the same time ridding our beautiful coastline of litter then please come and join us.
We will meet up at 12 pm on Sunday 30/11/25 at the car park at the end of Harbour Road where we will collect litter pickers and bags. If you already have litter pickers and/or gloves please bring them with you. We will then take a group photo so if you want to be in it please arrive promptly. Whatever time you can spare is welcome, so please feel free to pop in and help.
All participants under 18 years-old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Map: A map of the meeting location showing the area to be covered by the clean-up will be posted in the comments. The red star marks the meeting point.
The clean-up will cover the shoreline opposite Cockle Island (The Point) as well as the main beach to the right of the Harbour and beyond to the edge of Windsor Holiday Park.
Please dress suitably for the weather and the terrain.
Terrain: Some rocky and slippy surfaces
Footwear: Walking boots/Wellingtons/Sturdy shoes
Clothing: It's wise to check the weather forecast beforehand. You're advised to wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
