🎉 Natural Building Workshop: Build a Cob Pizza Oven! 🍕
Join us for a full-day, hands-on natural building experience as we create a functioning cob pizza oven from the ground up! Whether you’re a sustainability enthusiast, DIY builder, or just curious about working with natural materials, this is a fun, muddy, and unforgettable way to learn the ancient art of cob construction.
What You’ll Learn:
- The history, benefits, and modern use of cob (clay, sand, and straw)
- Anatomy of an earthen oven: foundation to finish
- Techniques for mixing cob (yes, barefoot stomping included!)
- Shaping, sculpting, and personalizing your oven
- Tips for curing and firing, so you can host your own pizza party OR even start your own food business venture!
Hands-On Activities:
- Mixing and applying cob
- Building a sand dome mold
- Layering insulation and thermal mass
lunch will be provided.
We’ll wrap up with a group reflection, resources, and a commemorative photo!
