Huxbear Vineyard is a family owned, Devon wine estate producing hand crafted wines in the Teign Valley, just outside Chudleigh. Ben and Lucy Hulland planted the vineyard back in 2007 and have been producing award-winning still and sparkling wines since 2010. This South Devon Vineyard and Winery is fully off grid, running off solar power. Winery methods have been adapted to keep energy usage to a minimum and produce wine in a sustainable way.
We will have a tour, find out how much work is involved in getting the grape to the bottle, and sample some of their wares! Places are limited, so please get in touch early and pay the £12.50/£15.00 to secure your place. It will be on a first come, first serve basis with a certain degree of priority for drivers! Tickets must be purchased before 31st August and are non-refundable unless I can find someone willing to take your place. The tour can be tailored to suit mobility needs but please note there are steps to the toilet and no wheelchair access. It is not on a bus route, so we need our members to collaborate and pull together. If you plan to go and are kind enough to volunteer to take others, please let me know. If you’d like to go but require a lift, this will obviously depend on the availability and goodwill from those that drive and your location. I will do my best to co-ordinate this. If you are driving and sampling wine, it is your responsibility to ensure you are within the legal limits to drive.
This should prove to be an informative and fun event, with the chance to buy any wines you like the taste of!
