Gather your crew and get ready for a day that brings out the best in all of you. Our Primal Team of 4 Throwdown Functional Fitness Competition on Sunday 15th February is all about shared effort, shared wins, and the kind of energy that makes training feel purposeful again. It’s a chance to work toward something together, stay motivated through the darker winter weeks, and enjoy a friendly challenge that celebrates progress at every level.
Early bird entry is £160 per team until 31st December 2025. From 1st January, tickets increase to £180 per team, so rally your four and secure your spot early.
Each team will be made up of 2 males and 2 females, taking on five workouts designed to reward teamwork, effort, and plenty of encouragement from the sidelines. Nothing here is built for elite athletes; this event is for everyday people who enjoy moving, learning new skills, and pushing themselves in a supportive environment.
To help everyone land in the right category, we’re offering two levels:
Beginner (Scaled):
Beginner friendly and ideal for those newer to functional fitness.
For Level Method gyms: recommended for athletes around Orange 3 and below.
For non-Level Method athletes: choose beginner (Scaled) if you’re still building confidence with barbell movements, working on consistency in skills, or prefer accessible movement standards that allow you to focus on teamwork and enjoyment.
Intermediate (Rx):
A great challenge for intermediate athletes with some experience under their belts.
For Level Method gyms: suited to athletes Blue level and above.
For non-Level Method athletes: choose intermediate (Rx) if you’re comfortable with moderate barbell loads, common functional fitness skills, and enjoy pushing the pace a little.
The competition will run all day at Primal Mvmnt Fitness & Nutrition in Newton Abbot, with workouts held mostly indoors and a hint of outdoor fun to keep things interesting.
