🌱 Tel-tvm’ simply means farm or garden in the Siletz Dee-ni’ language. The Siletz Tel-tvm’ is a 40-acre health promotional farm that serves Tribal members and the community in a way that is directly meaningful to the health needs in our community. While Siletz Tel-tvm’ grows organic vegetables, fruit, medicinal herbs, flowers, seeds, plant starts, and a wide variety of gardening resources on just 5 acres of cultivated land, it does so much more to engage in what health really means for Tribal members in the community. As a community-driven program, we seek to improve the health of our Siletz Tribal membership and community by providing access to clean organic produce, outdoor recreation, and culturally congruent activities in a safe space.

👉 About the speaker:
Zeph Mullins is the Food Sovereignty Program Manager for the Siletz Community Health Clinic. He has been in active land stewardship for almost 10 years and traveled to Oregon from Texas 5 years ago to pursue further professional and educational opportunities. He is a student with OSU’s Natural Resource Program and in his current role as Food Sovereignty Program Manager he works directly for the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. As a non-Tribal member he is grateful to have been invited to the home of so many wonderful people and work directly in the interest of promoting health while working with the landscape. He is happy to share how their work together has made a wonderful program and place they call Tel-tvm’.
