The building will open at 5:00 please plan to arrive between 5:00 and 5:30. We will start group SR skills practice at 5:30. Those arriving early are more than welcome to work on SR skills or drive sports as long as you’ve been introduced to the equipment, and understand there may not be help available at that time. We can also accommodate folks joining a bit later, just let me know so we can plan for food and volunteers as needed.
Open to all skill levels and breeds! We’ll have help available for dogs and owners who are new to the drive sports. GRC is a “reactive” dog friendly organization, and reactive dogs are welcome to all trainings. We’ll talk about any specific needs dogs have before we start, and remember to advocate for your dog!
If you need to crate your dog in the building, or your dog requires more space or only dog time for training, please let us know ahead of time and try to arrive before 5:30
Potluck! The club will provide a main dish and drinks, feel free to bring a side or sweet treat to share.
Should go without saying, but do not let dogs meet, and assume all dogs are no touch unless the owner says otherwise. Dogs must be on a 6’ leash unless working, while working dogs must be on a long line.
Dogs will be kept separate while participating in drive activities
Feel free to bring multiple dogs
Please message Jamie Sundstrom Halverson with any questions.
We request a $15 donation PER PERSON, not per dog (cash or Venmo, paid the night of) to participate in training events.
*Foster dogs attend free, reach out if you think your adoptable foster dog is a good fit
*Scholarship or volunteering in exchange for practice night donation available
Couple of announcements!!!
With the federal funding cuts and delays in SNAP and other benefits going out, we want to make sure that as a club, we are supporting our members. If anyone is facing food insecurity for themselves or their family, including their dogs, please reach out. Reach out to me, or if you aren't comfortable doing so, reach out to another member, any requests will be kept in confidence. We don't want anyone choosing between feeding themselves or their dog, and have members who are willing and able to help.
We are also accepting donations of classroom snacks for Steph Paxton's class. With the cuts, many students and their families are facing food insecurity. Please reach out to me, I can plan a pick up or drop off of donations, or feel free to bring any items to practices, we can collect them and get them to Steph.
