Join us for a weekend of fun and learning with Kassie Coverdale sharing her extensive GRC knowledge and judging SRs on Friday night and Jay presenting his "Play as the Way" workshop on Saturday and Sunday.
You’re welcome to attend either Friday or Saturday/Sunday, but of course you might as well attend both! That said, we will have separate jot forms and treat the events as separate in regards to payment and "RSVPS," so please make sure you fill out a form and submit payment for each event if you are going to attend all three days.
KASSIE COVERDALE - GRC INTRO AND SR TESTING
Kassie has been a staple of the GRC community since 2019, training extensively with Jay and learning many of the core principles from him that she uses to this day. She jumped right into taking on the responsibilities of forming Misfit Club, becoming a judge for SR testing, and didn’t stop there. She served as an officer of the GRC board this past year, is now the head SR Mentor Judge, and has recently certified to judge Wall Climb, Spring Pole, and Mill Race, with Weight Pull just pending approval. Kassie and her wife Hope stay busy running their training business, Engineering Change, and their GRC club in Lafayette Indiana, finding time to put SR titles on several of their own dogs and working on progressing towards more GRC titles.
Kassie will talk to us about what GRC is and why it was created. We’ll go over each drive sport and the SR skills in a beginner friendly overview. People can then choose to be judged for their SR test, or run through a mock SR and get feedback from Kassie if they feel like they’re not quite ready for judging.
Doors to the building will open at 430PM and the event will start at 5PM. We’ll order food for dinner and ask for a small fee to cover it. The cost for attendance is $50 which includes an SR test or mock for one dog.

JAY JACK - PLAY AS THE WAY
Jay has had a massive impact on the dog training community by showing the possibilities of using play as a cornerstone approach in turning around even the most serious behavioral modification cases. He’s spent recent years traveling the country (and world) teaching his philosophy to other dog trainers and dog owners. He is both a skilled dog trainer and human trainer, and his seminar attendees can’t walk away from a weekend without having new information and perspectives.
This seminar will benefit both new and experienced handlers alike, and his approach to dog training spans from “basic” pet dog life to sport applications. You’ll learn how to use play to build trust, motivation, and skills in emotional regulation. We’ll be selecting a variety of dog/handler teams in an attempt to showcase a variety of topics and problem-solving cases.
We will start at 9AM Saturday and Sunday. Lunch will be ordered both days for a small donation. Saturday evening will be a group dinner at a local restaurant. If time allows, we may be able to sneak in some GRC activities, but no promises.
The cost for this seminar will be $450 for a working spot for the weekend and $50/day for an audit spot. We will be selecting the 10 working slots from the applicants in order to make sure we have a variety of cases for the most breadth of learning. GENERAL INFORMATION
All three days will be at All Breed Obedience, 2357 Ventura Drive Suite 102, Woodbury, MN 55125. There is some indoor crating space available, but if you have the set up to crate your dog in your car please do so. There are folding chairs at the facility, but feel free to bring a more comfortable chair for yourself if you prefer. As always, please pick up after your dog.
