Charter Books is excited to host bestselling author Carissa Broadbent for a special event at the Jane Pickens Theater in Newport, RI. Carissa will be in conversation with author Jenny L. Howe to present her book DAUGHTER OF NO WORLDS. Book talk will be followed by an art presentation and a Q&A.
Arthur Wang, book cover designer of the new editions of the War of Lost Hearts series, will be present at the event to celebrate Carissa's book DAUGHTER OF NO WORLDS and present his work.

Carissa Broadbent is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Crowns of Nyaxia series. She writes novels that blend epic fantasy plots with a heaping dose of romance. She lives with her husband, her son, and one perpetually skeptical cat in Rhode Island.
JENNY L. HOWE first started scribbling stories into black-and-white composition notebooks with neon pink pens when she was in junior high and never really stopped. In college, she decided to turn her love of books into a career by pursuing a Ph.D. in literature, where she spent the next few years studying bizarre and entertaining medieval romances. Now, as a professor, she teaches courses in college writing, literature, and children’s media. When she’s not writing and teaching, Jenny spends her time buried under puzzle pieces, cross-stitching her favorite characters, and taking too many pictures of her rescue dogs, Tucker, Dale, and Toast. She is the author of The Make-up Test and On the Plus Side.
Arthur Wang is an illustrator and designer based in Massachusetts, from the mythical land of New England. He likes the fact that it snows there, and that it gets cold enough that he can be undisturbed by mosquitoes for at least a few months. He earned his B.F.A. in Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2011, and subsequently his M.F.A. in Product Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2014. He’s probably most well-known for his tarot decks, created under the brand-name TrueBlack Tarot. Today, Arthur spends his days designing and creating artwork for tarot decks, art prints, and cover art, as well as tinkering with accessories for hobbies like board games and Dungeons & Dragons. (He is currently searching for another DnD group to eat pizza and drink Mountain Dew with.)
