Our big end of summer Notting Hill Carnival themed event!!! πŸŽ‰

We are bringing some carnival vibes to NEWHAVEN!!! 🎊

ALL WELCOME, FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT πŸ’ž

🎢 Celebrate a legacy of culture and courage; through music, performances, dance, food, and community cohesion.

Honouring the spirit of those who turned struggle into celebration, and resistance into rhythm. Learn more about the Windrush Generation, and how carnival first started in London.

Performers / Speakers:

* 1:30pm Carnival dance performance/workshop for all ages, led by Niquelle LaTouche Arts

* 2:15pm Talk by Tony Kalume about the origins of carnival and the Windrush generation

* 2:45pm Steel pan performance by Dr Rachel Rankin-Hayward

* 3:30pm Vocals from Yasmin Bright Music

* 3:45pm Poetry reading by Fiona Young

* 4pm HEADLINE ACT - Royal Sounds! πŸ‘‘ London based reggae band, bringing uplifting vibes with a powerful message πŸ’–


Arts/crafts activities throughout the day - carnival crown making and flag decorating.

Stalls (retail/charity) and lots of dancing! 🎢

DJs into the evening, and Afro-Caribbean food πŸ₯˜ with vegan options available.


DJ’s:

Daytime - DJ TASK (our very own Tony Kalume!) 🎢 1pm - 5pm between perfomers

Evening - DJ King Sol (DJ King Sol Events / I Love Afrobeats club night in Brighton / BARCO Festival and more) 🎢 5pm - 10:30pm


The bar will also be open - run by Abyss Brewery, along with their on-site pizza van.

No cut off time for children/families in the evening - all ages permitted until we finish at 10:30pm
