The Go Twos band are

Rosie McDonald – vocals, Acoustic guitar, Irish Bouzouki, Bodhran

Nigel Lever – vocals Mandolin, flat pick acoustic guitar, Octave mandolin

Ann Palumbo – vocals, double bass, mandolin

Quentin Fraser – dobro , acoustic and electric guitar

Rosie McDonald is a singer/guitarist with a strong, driving, rhythmic playing style, often in alternate tuning, as well as finger picking style guitar along with Irish bouzouki and bodhran. Rosie’s rich alto voice, leads the listener into the stories from her own writing while honouring the folk & roots tradition. Rosie has performed at numerous festivals on the East Coast of Australia in bands: Mothers of Intention, RAPT Folklore, Seanchas, McMolly & the ‘Trippy Hippy Band’.

In 2020 Rosie collaborated with Celtic harpist Cliona Molins to write songs for the Bicentenary of the Parramatta Female factory with the EP release ‘Mothers of the Nation’ album to honour and celebrate Australia’s convict and pioneering women’s story. Ann Palumbo produced the CD and performed in the band along with Nigel Lever. Rosie also performs in ‘The Prankqueans’ an ensemble of artists inspired by ancient Celtic mythology to celebrate all things female and Irish Australian.

Nigel Lever is a renowned bluegrass and folk mandolinist / guitarist and singer. Founding member of iconic bluegrass band ‘Acoustic Shock’ and later with the Karen Lynne band, The Willing Ponies, 3 Jimmies, The 3 Marketeers, Trippy Hippy Band and The Faraway eyes. Nigel has toured extensively in Australia and overseas, as well as frequently travelling to the American Bluegrass heartland to immerse himself in the music at festivals such as Grey Fox, Preddyfest, IBMA and Galax festivals.

Ann Palumbo– Double bassist, guitarist, vocalist, mandolinist, songwriter, arranger, producer.

Quentin Fraser-.multi instrumentalist whose playing styles include Country Swing, Jazz, Folk, Blues and Bluegrass.

The Go Twos have recently performed at the Yass Irish and Celtic music festival and Folk by the Sea Kiama in September 2024 and will be performing gigs into 2025 , touring their CD and developing and crafting the unique sound of the Go Twos band.

The is an exciting collaboration as all 4 musicians delve into the combined potential of their craft and develop their treasured musical relationship.
