Sealionwoman, is vocalist Kitty Whitelaw and Double bass player Tye McGivern. Together they craft a unique and defiantly uncategorisable sound. Whitelaw’s rich and beguiling vocal delivery and McGivern’s atmospheric, inventive approach to his instrument creates melancholy soundscapes, torch-song transgressions and rapturous drones.
In late 2018 Sealionwoman released their first album "Siren" with Antigen Records. This debut album explored the haunting myth of the Selkie. Their latest album "Nothing Will Grow In The Soil," shifts to a heavier sound and focuses on another ancient and mystical subject, the ancient Yew tree. Released last year with The state51 Conspiracy, it delves into the rich ancient lore surrounding the Yew tree, continuing Sealionwoman's tradition of blending folklore with deeply atmospheric music.
