Based on the classic comic strip, Flash Gordon follows an American football player who is whisked away to the planet Mongo, where he must stop the evil Emperor Ming the Merciless from destroying Earth. Filled with over-the-top action, colorful costumes, and a legendary rock soundtrack by Queen, the film embraces its campy roots, delivering a unique blend of sci-fi adventure and tongue-in-cheek humor. Though not a blockbuster in its time, Flash Gordon has since become a cult favorite.
