Combined CPD and AGM event. The CPD element covering placemaking and heritage will be led by the highly experienced Dave Chetwyn, Managing Director of Urban Vision CIC and Secretary (and Trustee) of the IHBC. The AGM will cover the usual formalities including election of new committee members and updates on branch management. Lunch and refreshments will be provided on the day as part of the ticket price. Dietary requirements will be sought as part of ticket purchase process.

10:00 am Speaker Dave Chetwynd - Heritage and Design - Legislation, policy and guidance; Planning and design concepts; Understanding context;Design codes and Policies; Q&A
Morning break 11.30am
12:00pm approx. Speaker Dave Chetwynd - Placemaking in Historic Areas - Heritage, climate change, biodiversity; Positive planning for historic places (including housing, high streets); Heritage evidence base; Resources; Conclusions; Q&A
1:00pm Lunch including IHBC East Midlands AGM and networking
2:30pm Newark Town Centre HAZ walking tour hosted by NSDC Oliver Scott with Dave Chetwyn
4:00pm approx. return to Tudor hall at Civil War Centre for conclusions and Q&A.
4:30pm approx. close of day.
Newark on Trent is readily accessible by car and train. Newark Castle and Newark Northgate are the nearest train stations. Car parking is available in multiple car parks close to the venue, the nearest being adjacent the venue of Appleton Gate.
