Last February, Mike Brodie published Failing, a personal chronicle of freedom, heartbreak, addiction, and life spent on trains. Alongside him for part of that journey was his lover and collaborator, Mia Justice Smith. Mia was an artist in her own right and left behind an extraordinary body of work. She tragically left this world too soon at the age of 23 from an overdose.
We are honored to host Mike Brodie and Leo Fitzpatrick in the studio on Saturday, October 4 for a discussion of Mia’s work. In addition, we teamed up with Bill Daniel and Ian Ritter to print a selection of her photographs which will be on view until December 12.
In honor of Mia, please consider donating to Shatterproof, an organization actively fighting addiction. You can support the cause and read Mia's memorial here. ❤️
Copies of Failing and A Period of Juvenile Prosperity will be available.
